It climbed to 41 by 2020. Following the time that Justin Bieber released his bilingual remix of Despacito in the year 2017 famous artists started to work with reggaeton musicians. Drake and Bad Bunny collaborated for the track MIA MIA (2018) as did Madonna and Maluma. Madonna collaborated with Maluma for Medellin 2019, which was released in 2019. In the year 2020, some Reggaeton performers were expressing displeasure about the direction of the genre toward the mainstream. Yet, a young generation such as Rauw Alejandro was determined to maintain the development. He used elements from other genres and electronic music.
